HTML5 Responsive Design | More details & See section below.
KEY: MQs below indicates "media queries". The responsive css code for mobile located in the "media-queries.css". See section below and also support details.
MQs in this template affect the menu:
Important: When the MQs kick-in, a different menu (menu-mobile.htm) will display on mobile devices. See MQs section below.

Step 1:
This template includes 3 homepage options:
  • To use the default homepage, move the "OPTIONAL-No-Animation-Home.htm" into the "extras" folder.

  • To use the no animation homepage, move the "index.html" into the "extras" folder. Rename the "OPTIONAL-No-Animation-Home.htm" to "index.html".

Step 2:
EDIT HEADER: | More details | About jQuery includes
Edit the "logo.jpg" in the picts folder with your logo image. The header background HEX color can be found in the "style.css" file. A "logo.PSD" file is located in the "extras" folder. The default logo font used is 26 points "Trajan Pro" with a letter spacing of -0.5.

The header is a jQuery "include" in the "includes" folder named "header.htm". See options below for the right side header icons.

OPTIONAL PLAIN TEXT HEADER: To use the text header option: In the "includes" folder, rename the "header.htm" to "header-GRAPHIC.htm", rename the "header-TEXT-LOGO.htm" to "header.htm". Edit the text "YOUR WEBSITE TITLE" in the "header.htm" with your site name.

Step 3:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | More details
In the "includes" folder, open the "footer.htm" in Notepad or any text editor. Near the bottom of this file edit the "" text with your name or company name. This will update the footer info on all pages. This file is a jQuery "include" file. Click link above for details.

Step 4:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | More details
In the "includes" folder, open the "contact-info.htm" in Notepad or any text editor file and change the company name, address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address (edit the email in 2 places). This will update the contact info on the contact page. The "contact-info.htm" is a jQuery include. This info is in a jQuery include file to help prevent spam emails. Click link above for details.

Step 5:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

NO FORM OPTION: If you DO want to use the contact form, move the "No-Form-contact.htm" into the "extras" folder. If you want to NOT use a form on the contact page, move the "contact.htm" into the extras folder and re-name the "No-Form-contact.htm" to "contact.htm" or you can optionally rename the "staff.htm" to "contact.htm".

QUOTES FORM: Because of the complexity of setting up the quote form, there are notes in the "quotes.htm" to help you cut and paste to add new form fields. The form will work with most contact form scripts however you will need help files or a sample form from the script you intend to use. Most form elements work the same way from script to script, however the hidden values usually vary. You may want to consider editing the entire page in Notepad or a plain text editor instead of a wysiwyg editor.

Step 6:
This template includes a text location link, a map window and a get directions form. Click link above to setup these 3 areas.

Step 7:

The slideshows use a "responsive" jQuery script located in the "jQuery" folder. You can add and remove images in the slideshow 1-4 .htm pages. Click link above for details and options for the responsive slideshows.

SETUP "slideshow-home.htm" PAGE: This page is an index of your slideshows. In the "slideshows" folder edit the 4 "thumb-slideshow-?.jpg" images with each slideshow 1st thumbnail. Edit the text on the "slideshow-home.htm".

Step 9:

  • This template includes one menu for desktop and one for mobile. Each has it's own separate .css file. Both menu files are in the "includes" folder.
  • You can only use the number of top level desktop image menus that are setup as the default (4).
  • Only 2 column menus can be used in the "menu-mobile.htm" and only 3 top level tabs will fit.
  • See options section below for menu editing help and support links.

Step 10:
In the "faq.htm" edit the text between the "FAQ 1" notes area for FAQ question #1. Edit only the question and answer text and do not delete any of the other code in this area. Edit or remove the other FAQ questions on this page.

Step 11:
This template uses embedded YouTube video. Setup a free YouTube account, get the embed code from each video and replace the code in each video page. Replace only the following code highlighted below and do not remove the ?rel=0 and other Youtube options code at the end:

<iframe width="300" height="183"

Step 19:
Open each of the HTML pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service details. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Step 20:
UPLOAD: | More details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload all template files and folders and all files inside the folders. You do not need to upload the "extras" folder.

The Media Queries Responsive Code
More details | MQs in this template control many parts of each webpage to conform for mobile and tablet. The responsive MQs css classes are located in the "media-queries.css". 3 stages are used for max screen widths of 890, 740 and 482. As the browser width is made more narrow and each "stage" width threshold is reached, code defined in the "media-queries.css" will take effect changing the webpage layout. You can edit these sizes in the "media-queries.css" using any plain text editor.

The "media-queries.css" is for mobile and includes some of the same class names as the "style.css" to alter these classes as the browser width becomes more narrow.

MQs in the top of the "menu-styles-mobile.css" hide the desktop menu, and switch to show the mobile menu. The menus do not use classes in the "media-queries.css" as a general rule, although you can use classes in any of the .css style files for the menu.

The right sidebar is setup to not display on mobile using "#sidebar-content display: none;" in the "media-queries.css".

When editing any font sizes in this template you will need to edit the class in the "style.css", then edit the duplicate class in the "media-queries.css" to setup the mobile font sizes. See responsive support details.

MENU EDITING: | Mega menu editing | About jQuery includes
This template includes a "Mega Menu", or a menu that includes link lists, images and other HTML. The menu is a jQuery include file. It is setup as an include so you only need to edit one file to update all pages at one time. To edit the menu edit the "menu.htm" in the "includes" folder (then edit the "menu-mobile.htm" for mobile only display). You can edit all text and links in the "menu.htm" and "menu-mobile.htm" as well as copy and paste sections (or columns). Make backups of your menu files as you are editing!! Click link above for menu editing details.

Edit and test BOTH menus: Desktop view uses the "menu.htm" and mobile devices display the "menu-mobile.htm". Edit and test both menus. See testing for mobile in support. The menus switch when the browser width is 955 pixels using the css at the top of the "menu-styles-mobile.css".

Each menu has it's own css file for colors and fonts. The "menu-styles.css" and "menu-styles-mobile.css".

Each HTML page fades-in for about 1/2 second using class "#fadediv" in the "style.css". Edit the "#fadediv" in the "style.css" to change the fade-in color.

To remove the fade-in: Remove the script "PAGE FADE IN SCRIPT" in the "javascripts-footer.js" in the "includes" folder. Remove the background color for the class "#fadediv" at the top of the "style.css" or optionally just remove the <div id="fadediv"></div> in each HTML page.
