Brief History

The Kosrae Community Health Center received funding under the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Community Health Center grant on May 2015. Direct services provided during January 2016 at Tafunsak Community Health Center, February 2016 at Utwa Community Health Center and July 2016 at Tofol Community Health Center.
Kosrae is one of four island States in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).  FSM is in a special relationship of  free association with the United States and exists outside all U.S. congressional districts. Kosrae Department of Health Services (KDHS), established in the 1950's, is the only health care provider in Kosrae State and therefore responsible for operating the Kosrae State Hospital and providing all primary care and preventative health services for the island population. The Kosrae Community Health Center is a collaboration between KDHC and the KCHC Governing Board.
